Fiat has recently released a couple of teaser images with the Dodge Dart based Viaggio sedan.
This new model, which will be unveiled at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show next week, uses the CUSW (Compact US Wide) architecture that was originally developed for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, and its role is to introduce Fiat’s "technological know-how, design and refinement to the biggest selling segment in China."
The Viaggio which in English means voyage and its Chinese name Fei Xiang means flying, measures 4,679 mm in length and 1,850 mm in width, and rides on a 2,708 mm long wheelbase.
Its power comes from a 1.4-litre T-Jet turbocharged engine that will enable 120 HP or 150 HP, all of which can be sent to the wheels via a 5-speed manual or a dual dry clutch transmission (DDTC).
The 2013 Fiat Viaggio was designed at the Fiat Group Style Centre in Torino, but its production will take place at the automaker’s Changsha plant in China.
The car will become available for purchase on the Chinese market starting with the third quarter of 2012.
