EuroNCAP has released the test results for the 2013 Citroen C4 Picasso. The french MPV received 5 stars from the belgian organisation.

The passenger compartment remained stable in the frontal impact. Dummy readings indicated good protection of the knees and femurs of the driver and passenger. In the more severe side pole test, dummy readings of rib compression indicated weak protection of the chest area. The seat and head restraint provided good protection against whiplash injury in the event of a rear-end collision.

Based on dummy readings, the C4 Picasso scored maximum points for its protection of the 3 year dummy in the dynamic tests. Both dummies were sat in rearward-facing restraints for the impact tests. In the front impact, this ensured good protection from potential contact with the car interior.

The C4 Picasso scored maximum points for the protection provided by the bumper to pedestrians’ legs. The front edge of the bonnet was also good in places but provided mostly marginal protection to the pelvis area. The protection provided to the head of a struck pedestrian was poor along the base of the windscreen and on the windscreen pillars but was otherwise largely good or adequate.
