GM has applied a light facelift to their Chevrolet Spark, as their mini car which rivals the Fiat 500, the Smart Fortwo and the Scion iQ is ready to enter the US and the Canadian markets as a 2013 MY.
The styling changes have mainly been oriented towards the grille which features a bigger opening in the lower section, the front bumper, the exterior mirrors and the design of the taillights. The 2013 Chevrolet Spark has also received newly designed alloys plus a number of new exterior and interior colour choices, with the car continuing to be offered under the 1LT and 2LT trim levels.
Sales across the US and Canada will begin in mid 2012, and under the bonnet this "sporty four-passenger, five-door hatch" will be equipped with a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder engine in connection with a 5-speed manual transmission. This engine produces 63 kW and 85 HP, and will also be available with a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
Apart from featuring an improved MyLink infotainment system due to the addition of a 7-inch colour touch screen, the 2013 Spark comes with 10 airbags as standard, the OnStar safety and security system, and the SiriusXM Satellite Radio on uplevel models.
