Ariel is opening a new chapter in Atom’s history. The British manufacturer will see the introduction of a new Atom 3.5, equipped with a chassis derived from the V8 and the Mugen versions.
The engineers also developed new dampers, updated engine mounts and a stiffer suspension.
The improvements will allow Atom 3.5 to be more comfortable on the road and more capable on the circuit.
“Whether it’s a fast road car, the ultimate track-day weapon, a fun weekend car or a combination of all three, we can make a car that is personal and individual to that particular customer”, said Simon Saunders, Ariel director.
The car uses Honda’s normally aspirated 2.0 liter i-VTEC, capable of 245 hp in the standard version. The supercharged option will get 10 hp more, reaching a total of 310 hp thanks to a modified intake fuel system and ECU.
Ariel Atom 3.5 will include a restyled bonnet, twin projector headlamps and LED turn, stop and tail lights, a new digital LCD dashboard display with gear-shift lights and a data logger that can be added to the driver’s display to show lap times and G force.
