The facelift versions 2012 Renault Scenic and Renault Grand Scenic have just been revealed by the French car company. These new MPV models are going to hit the European market in January next year with pricing starting at 21,350 Euros for the Scenic and at 24,850 Euros for the Grand Scenic.

Featuring a revised front fascia, new rear lights and a series of touches that make them look more dynamic, the 2012 Renault Scenic and Renault Grand Scenic have also been fitted with LED daytime running lights, various glossy black and chromed details and a new range of wheels.

The range also includes two new body colours (Grenat Red and Majorelle Blue) while for the interior the automaker offers two new trims (a new beige trim for the Expression and Privilege/Initiale equipment grade and a new dark charcoal trim for the Privilege/Initiale versions).

The engines that are going to be offered on the 2012 Renault Scenic and Renault Grand Scenic will deliver "even greater driving pleasure and frugal fuel efficiency" thanks to technologies such as Stop&Start, braking/deceleration energy recovery.

These engines include the new Energy dCi 110 diesel which emits only 105 g/Km of CO2, consumes 4.1-litres of fuel per 100 Km and produces 260 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm, and the diesel Energy dCi 130 which is now 20 percent more fuel efficient as it requires 4.4-litres per 100 Km and emits 114 g/Km of CO2.

In Spring 2012 the new Scenic and Grand Scenic range will also be joined by a brand new Energy TCe 115 petrol engine that will be 20 percent more fuel efficient than the 1.6 16V 110hp engine and will emit 135 g/Km of CO2.

In terms of equipment the new Scenic and Grand Scenic will be the first models to feature the new Visio System which integrates the lane departure warning system and an automatic headlight function, plus the Hill-start assist system which is also going to be offered as standard, will prevent from rolling backwards when pulling away on a slope.

The 2012 Renault Scenic and Renault Grand Scenic models are going to be manufactured at the Douai plant in northern France, and order books will open on December 1st on the automaker's home market.
