2012 Jaguar XF facelift

Jaguar's facelift version compact saloon, the 2012 XF has premiered at the 2011 New York International Auto Show, with the company realising photos and already specifying pricing for the British market.

According to the automaker, the 2012 Jaguar XF draws its inspiration from the XJ, and features an all new front end with slim new headlights incorporating distinctive LED lighting strips, a revised grille sitting more upright, a new bonnet, a redesigned bumper and new tail lamps with new LEDs.

At the interior the 2012 Jaguar XF received a new steering wheel, revised switchgear for the ventilation system, new dial mounted screens and redesigned seats.

The most notable changes are under the bonnet where the 2012 Jaguar XF features the new 2.2-litre 4-cylinder common rail engine developing 190 PS and 332 lb-ft of torque. This engine is linked to an also new 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and an

innovative Stop Start system, all of which contribute to the car's 50 mpg (UK rating / 43.5 US mpg) fuel consumption figure and its 149 grammes per Km emission level.

The second diesel plant available for the 2012 Jaguar XF remains the 3.0-litre V6 which continues to produce 240 PS while the petrol range includes includes two V8 plant producing 385 PS or 510 PS on the XFR.

The 2012 Jaguar XF price starts at 30,950 GBP for the 2.2-litre diesel version and reaches 65,350 GBP for the XFR.

Apart from the facelifted XF, Jaguar has also unveiled the new 2012 XK range in New York. Just like the XF the new XK comes with all new headlights which are 15 mm slimmer, more subtle LEDs, a larger oval grille, new air scoops, a horizontal vent mounted on each wing and revised LEDs at the rear.

The 2012 Jaguar XK range starts at 65,000 GBP for the 385 PS version using the 5.0-litre V8 and reaches 97,000 FBP for the 550 PS version badged as the XKR-S.
