FifthGear wanted to see what the fecelift version 2012 Jaguar XF is all about, with their attention directed mainly at the model's new 2.2-litre Diesel engine. They were so interested in testing this version because Jaguar claims this 4-cylinder 2.2-litre turbo diesel is the most efficient engine the automaker has ever made.
Thanks to this plant the 2012 Jaguar XF 2.2D returns 52 mpg and has CO2 levels of 149 g/Km, while in terms of performance it delivers 190 PS and 332 lb-ft of torque.
According to Fifthgear, Jaguar has made a great job revising the 2012 XF, mainly at the interior which is now 'better than ever' due to new features such as new switches, new seats and an improved sat-nav, so the only slight issue with this car would be its 8 gear automatic transmission which can make the car feel slow in certain conditions.
Priced at 31,000 GBP, which means a bit more expensive than what rivals from BMW and Mercedes offer, the 2012 Jaguar XF 2.2 Diesel is slightly better than the E Class but cannot match the 520d.
