2012 Fiat 500 Abarth - Photos and Details

Abarth has unveiled their new pocket rocket today in the city and Angels, with this new version being based on the US spec 2012 Fiat 500.

The2012 Fiat 500 Abarth has went trough an extensive number of changes with the most important ones being targeted towards the 1.4-litre naturally aspirated MultiAir engine which has been turbocharged and twin-intercooled and it now delivers around 59 percent more power.

Witharound 117 HP per litre the new Fiat 500 Abarth produces a total of 160horsepower (119 kw) and 170 lb-ft (230 Nm) of torque, figures which arequite impressive for a car this small. 

Of-course Abarth did notstop at upgrading just the engine, as it also designed a series of aerodynamic components for the Fiat 500 and tweaked its suspension and steering.

The new Abarth is fitted with larger brakes as well and the regular wheels were replaced by 16 inch rims (17 inch optional) wrapped in Pirelli tires.

Its interior has been enhanced with a newly designed flat bottom steering wheel wrapped in perforated leather, a large instrument cluster with a 160 mph speedometer, an analog turbo-boost gauge with integrated led shift light and a 4.3 inch touchscreen display which is part of the TomTom navigation system and the Blue&Me handsfree communication system.

The cabin is also dominated by Black leather and contrasting red stitching, and overall we are very pleased with what Abarth has achieved once again.

However it remains to be seen how much the 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth will cost.
