Audi has revealed its first luxury e-tron concept at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show today, and we are talking about the A6 L e-tron.

This plug-in hybrid represents an important step for Audi towards future electric mobility in China considering that the new A6 L is the automaker's bestselling model on this market, with the powertrain in this case, consisting from a 2.0-litre TFSI engine rated at 211 HP (155 kW backed by a 95 HP (70 kW) electric motor.

The 2012 Audi A6 L e-tron Concept also uses a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery located at the rear, and the whole system enables the car to travel for up to 80 Km (49.71 miles) at a constant speed of 60 Km/h (32.28 mph).

Due to the fact that this is an e-tron study, there are a few styling differences between it and the regular A6 L, with the most obvious ones being the single frame gille with slender cross-bars, the 21 inch wheels in e-tron design and the special rear diffuser.

The Audi A6 L e-tron Concept measures 5.02 m in length (16.47 feet), 1.87 m in width (6.14 feet), and 1.46 m in height (4.79 feet), and it rides on a 3.01 m long (9.88 feet) wheelbase.

At the interior the powermeter on the instrument panel replaces the tachometer, with its pointer indicating the total drive system power on a scale of zero to 100 percent.
