2011 Koenigsegg Agera

Details and photos with the 2011 Koenigsegg Agera have been released over the weekend by the Swedish supercar manufacturer.

World premiere for the 2011 Koenigsegg Agera will take place at this week's Geneva Motor Show and at this point we know this Bugatti Veyron fighter will feature a an optimized Twin Turbo V8 that will produce 910 horsepower and an impressive 1100 Nm of torque @ 5,100 rpm.

The press release also mentions that the 2011 Koenigsegg Agera will benefit from 1000 Nm of torque from 2680 to 6100 rpm so all we can say is too bad the company didn't reveal any performance figures yet.

Among high-performance components the 2011 Koenigsegg Agera will feature an adjustable ABS system, the latest braking technology and the world's fastest reacting traction control system.

The 2011 Koenigsegg Agera is still scheduled to undergo various tests and production is expected to start sometime in September.

The 2011 Koenigsegg Agera price was not announced yet.

Koenigsegg press release :

Koenigsegg is celebrating 15 year of outstanding performance by unleashing their latest creation  - The Agera.

Koenigseggcelebrate 15 years of making dream cars, by unleashing their latestjewel – the Koenigsegg Agera. A new supercar aimed to take theKoenigsegg experience to the next level, both on the road and the track.

Agera, the Swedish verb “to act”, has been chosen as the name forKoenigsegg´s latest super creation, as it symbolizes the Koenigseggphilosophy well. Koenigsegg is always striving forward, seekingchallenges beyond limitations. The new supercar Agera is an outcome ofthat creative process and its functions respond very well to the givenname.

When we believe in something, we do it. We act.  the car also has toact, when commanded to unleash its performance, forcefully andfawlessly.  The development of the Agera has been evolutionary, following the Koenigsegg tradition of continuous improvements, byhoning and perfecting the end result, all based on previous experienceand innovative
mindsets. The focus when developing the Agera was to maximize, drivingexperience, cornering speed, braking and adaptability, says Christianvon Koenigsegg.

The Koenigsegg Agera is atestament to time. The original shape and concept of the Koenigsegg CC,created 15 years ago, is still valid, fresh and highly competitivetoday. The Agera still stay true to the original philosophy, shape andsize of the original CC.  At the same time, it looks, feels andperforms like something belonging to the future, with all new content.
A Supercar is not better than the tires it use, as it is the only linkbetween the road and the car. Therefore Koenigsegg has a deep and longterm collaboration with Michelin, when it comes to tire development. The Agera program will take this collaboration to the next level and isexpected to set new standards when it comes to overall performance -wetas well as dry handling.

The Agera is as wide at the front as in the rear of the car. This gives very good balance in corners and minimizes body roll.
The Agera also features the latest in braking technology, incorporatingan adjustable ABS system, 392x36 and 380x34 ventilated and drilledceramic discs, for unparalleled braking performance and zero faderegardless of track or road condition. Thanks to optimized breathing andTwin Turbo, power is now 910 hp, running on regular petrol. Torque ismaximum 1100 nm and is reached at 5100 rpm. There is over 1000 nm oftorque available from 2680 to 6100 rpm.
The new traction control is the fastest reacting in the industry, withauto adapt functionality for different road conditions and drivingstyles as well as several manual settings.
Koenigsegg has also developed a new type of interior illumination, which is a worlds frst in the car industry - Ghost light. Theillumination shines through the billet aluminium buttons and surfacesby way of invisible nanotubes, creating excellent
visibility of the symbols, as well as a very clean and stylishappearance, framed by an all-new carbon fbre centre console and tunnelassembly.

Furthermore, the driver can easily select the information he wants displayed in front of him, on the all new multi-info cluster
combined with the upgraded infotainment display, ranging from basicfunctionality, to G force meter, power meters, Sat-nav, music,lap-timer or compasses – to best suit the current driving conditions,be it highway cruising, touring country roads, city
navigation or serious track driving. Furthermore the interior features the new Agera stitching and seams, which gives an beautiful fuidity to the interior.
All in all the Agera is created to maintain Koenigsegg’s position as one of the most engaging and top performing cars on the
road, on the track -on the planet. Still, maintaining the largestluggage space in the industry and the novel Koenigsegg doors anddetachable/stow able hardtop, that really makes all Koenigsegg carsstand out.

The Agera will be produced in parallel to the Award winning CCX andCCXR models. This gives Koenigsegg the ability to live up to ourcustomers varying wishes and demands. The Agera is on display at the80th Salon International de l’Auto in Geneva. The pre-production showcar will be put through its phases for the coming six month prior tothe production car launch of the Agera. Finally, Agera is also shortfor the Greek word Ageratos, which in ancient Greek means “ageless”.
