Apart from unveiling the Urban Concepts, Audi has also released a few photos with the new version R8 eTron. This updated prototype will be showcased in Frankfurt starting this week, and we expected it to be a pre-production variant of the upcoming 2013 model.
This electric version Audi R8 eTron uses a single speed transmission to deliver 313 HP and 4,500 Nm of torque to the wheels, and due to its total mass of only 1,5 tones, the car is expected to go from 0 to 100 Km/h in only 4.8 seconds.
Top speed is reportedly limited to 200 Km while its 550 Kg, liquid-cooled, lithium ion batteries will provide a driving range of 250 Km. These batteries require 6 to 8 hours to recharge at a 230 Volt outlet, and around 2 and a half hours at a high Voltage outlet.
Other highlights about the 2011 Audi R8 eTron include its advanced energy recuperation system which reacts upon braking, and for which the driver can select the level of intervention through steering wheel mounted controls.
