2010 Porsche 911 Turbo S

Porsche has just released photos and details with its new range topping model, the 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo S which will be available both as a coupe and cabriolet.

The company says the 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo S benefits from a 30 BHP increase over the 911 Turbo version meaning te 6-cylinder boxter engine featuring two exhaust gas turbochargers with variable turbine geometry is now able to pack 530 BHP (390 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque.

In terms of performance the 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo S needs just 3.3 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 Km/h and reach a top speed of 315 Km/h (195 mph) while fuel consumption is 11.4-litres per 100 Km (24.8 mpg).

The 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo S price for the Coupe version starts at 145,400 Euro while pricing for the Cabriolet starts at 154,900 Euro and market

launch is set for May this year.

Stuttgart. The engineers at Dr. Ing. h.c. F.Porsche AG, Stuttgart, have developed a new top-of-the-range sports carfor the customer who will only settle for the very best in terms ofpower, performance and driving dynamics: the 911 Turbo S. The heart ofthis most exclusive high-performance athlete is of course asix-cylinder boxer boosted by two exhaust gas turbochargers withvariable turbine geometry, with an increase in power over the 911 Turboby 30 to 530 bhp (390 kW). Maximum torque is a most impressive 700Newton-metres (516 lb-ft). At the same time this new top model comes asstandard with all high-tech components available only as options on the“regular” 911 Turbo.



Despite its significant increase in powerand dynamic performance, the new 911 Turbo S, at 11.4 litres/100kilometres (equal to 24.8 mpg imp), does not consume any more fuel thanthe Porsche 911 Turbo, making it by far the most efficient sports carin its performance class.

The 911 Turbo S comes exclusivelywith seven-speed Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) (Porsche’sDouble-Clutch Gearbox) conveying drive power to Porsche TractionManagement (PTM) all-wheel drive. Driving safety optimised to an evenhigher standard is ensured by Dynamic Engine Mounts and Porsche TorqueVectoring (PTV) including a mechanical differential lock on the rearaxle. In conjunction with Launch Control on the Sport Chrono PackageTurbo likewise featured as standard, 911 Turbo S accelerates from astandstill to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 10.8seconds

Top speed is 315 km/h or 195 mph. Extra-light andfading-resistant Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) provide thesame outstanding performance in terms of stopping power and controlledapplication of the brakes.

The supreme level of standardequipment including Dynamic Bending Lights, 19-inch wheels in RS Spyderdesign with central locking, a three-spoke sports steering wheel withgearshift paddles, adaptive sports seats, cruise control, a CD/DVDchanger and exclusive twin-tone leather upholstery in Black/Crema orBlack/Titanium Blue additionally underlines the outstanding class andcalibre of this first Turbo S in five years.

The new Porsche 911Turbo S will be at the dealership as both a Coupé and Cabriolet as ofMay 2010. The German market price of the Turbo S Coupé is Euro 173,241including 19 per cent value-added tax and local equipment in the market(the Euro base price is Euro 145,400). The Cabriolet retails in theGerman market at Euro 184.546, again including 19 per cent VAT andlocal equipment/specifications (base price Euro 154,900)
